Settling in and getting our bearings

Waking at 8am after six hours sleep and having a cold shower, we (or at least some of us) felt somewhat refreshed and ready for breakfast. It was so nice to feel human again.
We had fresh fruit (papaya and watermelon) with our cereal, and spent some time sorting out our surroundings.

Picture this, we're in a big hall, and all of the guys are sleeping on the stage, while the women have a room. There are supposed to be curtains closing the men  off from the main hall, but the rails and runners are a bit broken. Nevertheless, after a bit of perseverance, and a little ingenuity, we reset the rails and re-threaded the curtain hooks - and the curtains could be pulled across. Our first small success of the day!

We were invited to James and Mafi's home for lunch, but needed to pick up some vegetables and items from the market on the way.

Water!! It is so warm and humid in the market. We need to stay hydrated, while trying to avoid having to go to the bathroom every few minutes.
Jonty bought himself a Tupenu (cloth skirt) so that he could dress appropriately for church the next day.
It was cool to see the To'ofohe house and the lunch was delicious. (Jonty had a nice tuna salad while the rest of us had chicken stew).
We went for a short walk to the beach, and checked out both the beauty of the islands and the shells, but also the rubbish.
We walked around the local area, and then James took a small group of us into Nuku'alofa to sort out SIM cards for us. There are only three telecom providers and two of them were closed, so we bought nine SIMS on a T$10 (Tonga Pa'anga) Plan for 7GB Data from the remaining one.
After a small confusion we met the rest of the group at a local café, and finally managed to get our phones working when Viliami showed up. The Apple users were automatically able to connect to the Access Point Network, while the Android users had to set them up manually. Trick for young players!
Internet access at last.
We returned to Halaleva for dinner and planning. The meal was completely delicious, but Jonty was not feeling well, and excused himself to bed early.
After cleaning up, I soon went to bed.
